What's It All About?
Maybe not what you think...

[click photo]

There's a home place under fire tonight in the heartland
And the bankers are taking my home and my land from me
There's a big achin' hole in my chest now where my heart was
And a hole in the sky where God used to be
There's a home place under fire tonight in the heartland
There's a well where the water's so bitter nobody can drink
Ain't no way to get high and my mouth is so dry that I can't speak
Don't they know that I'm dyin' why's nobody cryin' for me
My American dream fell apart at the seams
You tell me what it means you tell me what it means
There's a home place under fire tonight in a heartland
And bankers are taking the homes and the land away
There's a young boy closin' his eyes tonight in a heartland
Who will wake up a man with some land and a loan he can't pay
His American dream fell apart at the seams
You tell me what it means you tell me what it means
My American dream...
There's a home place under fire tonight in the heartland
There's a home place under fire tonight in the heartland
There's a home place under fire tonight in the heartland
There's a home place under fire tonight in the heartland

The occupations may seem like a noble effort, but they are...

Maybe not what you think...

Freedom of Speech - Amerikan Style

In Florida:

(9/19/07 - 9:00 AM) I have chosen to remove the video of the Florida Student at the John Kerry lecture.
After further review and consideration I have come to the conclusion that the student brought on some of the police response by his actions. While I feel the police response was excessive, some of the student's actions did not work favorably for him.
Other reports have indicated that he is known as a prankster and such actions and reactions are nothing new to him.

Also Agent 99 has pointed out the vast differences between the press reactions to this incident in Florida which has been run on every network over and over and the violence against Reverend Yearwood which was virtually unseen.

(9/19/07 - 12:30 PM) OK, it's back - here is another look and analysis from the MSNBC show Hardball. This gives a better view of the actions at the rear of the room as well as some background leading up to the event. Clearly, once they had him on the ground there was no reason to taser him.

These Hardball videos also explore other means of free speech suppression by both the Republican and Democratic parties.

But then why didn't Reverend Yearwood's experience garner this much attention?

MacArthur Park

by BB2

Forty years ago a popular song referred to MacArthur Park, describing a lost love as a melting cake which had been left out in the rain.

This past May Day MacArthur Park was again the scene of something lost. This time it was the freedoms of speech and assembly. It is our Constitution which has been left out in the rain and instead of green icing flowing down it is red blood!
