About an hour of heavy rain yesterday afternnon, sprinkles since - next, even heavier, wave due by noon today. More waves - each progressively stronger, due daily through Friday.
Everything is blinking and shaking and rattling and rolling here. Wind howling. I'm kind of worried about the power source for my new machine.... The sun came out around 3pm and shone in my kitchen window for fifteen or twenty minutes. I kept going back to the window to feel it. I've never done that before! I'm not that big on sunlight... but, today, it felt transcendental.
Thing could blink out before I even get this comment posted....
Parts of people's houses being blown off here, and my utility room's door had to be tied shut in the middle of the night last night. That kind of shit always happens RIGHT as yer going to bed....
The heavy rain bypassed us this morning. All orange and red on the radar as it aproached, then it turned light green as it went by then back to orange and red again as it hit the foothills.
Not much left to come through until the next one tomorrow.
He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder. —Albert Einstein
The man who would choose security over freedom deserves neither.

50-60mph cross winds on rain soaked I-80 this morning. 17 miles of white knuckle driving.

Much calmer today - I lost one branch on my tree - the one that I've been wanting to remove for several years now but couldn't afford to have it done.
ReplyDeleteI love free wind pruning!
